Smart Home.
In your hands.

evcc · ioBroker or Home Assistant · Homelab

A system that fits your home — and that you understand.

I plan and develop Smart Home systems with ioBroker or Home Assistant. With evcc, I coordinate solar generation, EV charging and heat-pump integration. For lighting, sensors and home automation, I integrate Shelly, Homematic IP and Philips Hue.

My approach

Run it yourself. Understand updates. Get help when needed. I share the knowledge for your own system, aiming to keep ongoing support costs low.

01 / Planning

Your daily life.
The right technology.

What should happen automatically? Which devices do you already have? How do you want to control your home? Together we develop a plan for energy management, home automation and the local infrastructure.

The central platform is ioBroker or Home Assistant, chosen to suit your requirements and existing environment. I combine system planning and configuration with documentation and practical guidance so you can operate and maintain your system yourself.

02 / Services

From solar energy
to your homelab.

01

Solar forecasts & surplus charging

Set up solar forecasts and use them to plan charging. Align your charger and vehicle with solar generation and your mobility needs through evcc.

02

Load management

Make available connection capacity, consumers and charging priorities understandable. Configure load management to fit existing metering and supported devices.

03

Heat pumps & energy management

Coordinate heat-pump integration with solar generation and evcc. Account for available device interfaces, operating behaviour and your desired comfort level.

04

Lighting & home automation

Integrate Shelly, Homematic IP and Philips Hue into ioBroker or Home Assistant. Design sensor, lighting and device workflows with suitable automations and clear controls.

05

Proxmox & historical data

Plan your homelab as the foundation for local operation. Store operational and energy data in InfluxDB for monitoring, visualisation and analysis.

06

Network & remote access

Separate IoT devices appropriately, design permissions and enable remote access, for example through a VPN. Agree suitable access paths and device integrations for systems such as Nuki as well.

07

Continuity during outages

Plan local core functions, manual controls and recovery for internet, server or network outages. Prepare and test backups and restoration together.

08

Updates & owner-managed operation

Teach updates and basic maintenance in practice. Where appropriate, combine automatic updates with backups and recovery, and verify access and automations after changes.

03 / Knowledge transfer

Run it yourself.
Get targeted support.

My aim is for you to carry out updates and basic maintenance independently. You receive clear documentation and practical guidance on your own system, from daily controls to backups and recovery.

Where suitable for the components and your operating setup, I configure automatic updates. Backups, appropriate update steps and follow-up functional checks help make changes in rapidly evolving platforms understandable.

I provide targeted help with bugs and problems. The approach is an understandable, owner-managed system with low ongoing support costs as a goal, and assistance when it is needed.

04 / Collaboration

From an idea
to your own system.

  1. Understand your needs and baseline. Review devices, energy flows, networks and use cases together.
  2. Plan the system and automations. Align the platform, components, access paths and operating setup.
  3. Configure and test together. Check how configuration, measurements, charging and automations work together.
  4. Transfer knowledge. Teach controls, updates, backups and recovery on your own system.
  5. Help where needed. Support troubleshooting and work together on suitable extensions.

05 / My own product

Understand data.
AI Analytics.

For an ioBroker environment, my product ioBroker.ai-analytics can explore historical Smart Home data and help investigate unusual observations. It complements system planning with insight into consumption and device usage.
